Quick update and prayer request from Honduras.
Greetings everyone,
Light and Life will be working in a small village one hour from Las
Mesas the week of Feb 28th with a medical/dental team. This coming,
weekend Light and Life will take a few people from the local church in
Las Mesas to evangelize the area as I teach on women’s health care.
We’ve been there a few times recently working on another project and
the people are very warm and open to us. The needs are great, but
being that our God is greater I don’t think we need to worry if we can
help….because I know we can.
The clinic in Las Mesas is going good, the people are coming, we are
helping and lives are improving. Although we are in the new building,
we are still doing some in home visits. This past week at the clinic
was busy, but the Lord sent us a person that needed for us to stop
what we were doing and go to their home to help. While we were walking
up the little path to the house I thought, “ Dear God, I hope we have
what we need to help her”, because when the daughter came into the
clinic she was upset and just said “My mother can’t get up”. When we
got there I soon realized we had everything we needed and it wasn’t in
the medical bag I had in my hand. I didn’t need the stethoscope
hanging on my neck to hear what was wrong. What she needed, I had in
my heart. By the time we left, she was feeling better and knew she
needed to put her trust in the Lord. Anxiety is killing her. Most
people think that the culture is laid back, tranquilo, and easy going.
That is true, but what they don’t show is the worry, the constant
thought of ‘how”; how am I going to make it, how am I going to feed my
children….HOW?
We’ve been here more than 8 years and I feel like I've just arrived in
the country. God is allowing me to ache worse than ever for the people
and to share with you all the needs and the urgency to help. We might
not be able to change the world, but we can make a difference in this
small country.
Prayer requests:
Please keep the upcoming February medical team in your prayer.
Construction projects to be complete.
Water Ministry (using the well).
The need for medical professionals to volunteer their time and
talents.
May the Lord bless you all on this day
